Welcome to the Hillbilly
Hideaway!
|
vacation living in Roan Mountain,
Tennessee
|
 |
You are cordially invited to
spend a relaxing mountain vacation with us at the Hillbilly Hideaway,
a lovely antique log cabin in the pastoral setting of Roan Mountain,
Tennessee. Escape the rat race here in the rustic charm of this
two bedroom cabin constructed from authentic hand-hewn 150+ year
old antique logs. Watch the deer from the wraparound decks and
porches or soak up lazy afternoons or evenings in the hot tub
overlooking a rushing mountain creek in a wooded setting. Hike
the Appalachian Trail, or choose to explore the trails right
here on our private 14 acre retreat. Wet a line in the private
fishing pond on the property, or test your fly fishing skills
in the Doe River a mere 1/4 mile up the road

You havent fully experienced the region until youve
dined at The Gamekeeper. Its a true gourmet restaurant,
with the perfect blend of upscale elegance and simple mountain
charm. The staff is top notch and very attentive. The restaurant
is a favorite destination of both locals and visitors that never
fails to make any trip, anniversary or event more special.
The Gamekeeper is famous for Southern favorites - ultimate
in comfort food - prepared with creativity and originality, offered
through an evolving seasonal menu that blends the traditional
with the exotic, satisfying both the meat lover and the vegetarian.

With an almost 100-item selection, Chef and owner
Doug Usko has taken the philosophy that any food that can be
prepared, can be prepared tapas-style. A sampling of the diverse
menu includes escargot, sesame-seared tuna sashimi, saffron paella,
mushroom ragout, sautéed squid steak, tempura lobster
tail and a leek and- gruyere flan. Or if youre in
the mood for something more basic, there are fish fingers, fried
cheese ravioli, steamed clams, barbecue applewood bacon-wrapped
shrimp, grits and cheese, shredded barbecue pork, black bean
cake and grilled salmon.

At Fatz Cafe, our plan is simple: great food in generous
portions served in a relaxed, comfortable setting by friendly
people. Our commitment to the quality of the food and service
we deliver is unwavering, and we take that commitment seriously.
But we don't take ourselves too seriously. We're not real big,
and we're not real fancy. We're a medium-sized private company,
led by operating partners who care about their restaurants and
their communities. We've got a great team, great chemistry, and
an exceptional spirit, and we love what we do and have fun doing
it.

I love this place. The food is excellent. The prices

You gotta see this place to believe it! All the fixtures
are recycled, in one of the most visually busy establishments
I have ever seen. The menu includes everything from sandwiches
to pizza to burritos, and the prices are great! Extensive Beer
list.

This is a great restaurant for sushi and other asian seafood
dishes. Service is slow at times, but the food is worth the wait.
|
Off the beaten path and a bit of a drive, but worth
it for one of Fred Ferguson's monster cheeseburgers...really,
the thing must weigh 20 pounds. Darts and wide screen tv, with
the coldest beer around.

The Cottage, Johnson City TN
Specializing in chicken and hamburgers, the Cottage
offers great American food.

Thai-Am, Roan Mountain TN
The best Thai food I have ever eaten...and less than
5 miles from the Hideaway! Call ahead, because at this best-kept
secret they are apt to run out of food before they run out of
customers! 5925 HWY 19E Hampton, TN 423-725-3423
