Welcome to the Hillbilly
Hideaway!
vacation living in Roan Mountain,
Tennessee
Experience the rustic charm of this
two bedroom cabin constructed from authentic hand-hewn 150+ year
old antique logs. You can watch the deer, rabbits and squirrels
from the wraparound porches. Soak up lazy afternoons or evenings
in the hot tub overlooking a rushing mountain creek in a wooded
setting. Hike the Appalachian Trail, or choose to explore the
trails right here on our private 14 acre retreat. Wet a line
in the private fishing pond on the property, or test your fly
fishing skills in the Doe River a mere 1/4 mile up the road (Flyfishing
lessons are available by local fishing pros).
Prepare meals in our fully-equipped farmhouse
kitchen, or indulge yourself with available catered meals. Provide
our staff with your list of necessary provisions, and for a nominal
fee our personal shopper will make sure you are stocked and ready
upon arrival!
Bristol Race fans when you stay at
the Hillbilly Hideaway, you're a mere 20 minutes from the Bristol
Motor Speedway...but just far enough away that you won't have
to deal with all the race traffic if you go out for a night on
the town afterward! We are centrally located to numerous High
Country attractions and festivals!
At the Hideaway, you're only 25 minutes
away from snow skiing in the Banner Elk ski area; you're also
less than 20 minutes away from fishing, boating and water skiing
at Watauga Lake; you're 50 minutes to Tweetsie Railroad and shopping
at Tanger outlet shoppes on the parkway; you're 15 minutes away
from the Appalachian Trail head; 30 minutes from whitewater rafting;
you may choose golfing opportunities in Elizabethton or Banner
Elk -each are a mere 20 minutes away; in October, choose from
the Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, the Valle Crucis Country
Fair, or home football games at "The Rock" home to
Appalachian State University's back-to-back NCAA football championship
team! Spend a day antique shopping in historic downtown Elizabethton,
home of the covered bridge. Enjoy exotic Thai cuisine from the
Thai-Am roadside eatery, minutes away on route 19-E.
Our accommodations include 1 queen
size bed, 1 fullsize bed, one twin , and a full size sleeper
sofa...the Hideaway comfortably sleeps 7.
